Mineral Oil and your Hair? Should you use Mineral Oil on your hair?

Now you all know Mineral Oil was a big No Go for use in my hair! But after visiting several sites I may reconsider using mineral oil on my hair. Why? This is why:
One of the greatest benefits of using mineral oil for hair is its ability to hold in moisture. When mineral oil is applied to the hair, it creates a barrier over the cuticles. This prevents moisture from escaping and keeps the hair hydrated. It also prevents additional moisture from penetrating the hair strand

So after reading that I think I will moisturize my hair and apply my coconut oil and THEN apply the mineral oil as a sealant. How does that benefit me?

Well I was using coconut oil as my primary sealant but it can only coat the hair for so long because coconut oil penetrates the hair strand. So when I wear my lace wigs for a week I can rest assured that my moisture is locked in until my next wash.

But be careful.. If you moisture and seal your hair every night, that mineral oil will lock out any additional moisture you try to add to your hair. I will let you ladies know how it works for me.

I'm Back!

I know its been a while... Especially since I did a video... I will explain myself later😝Right now I am in the states for a couple of days... I am at this Dominican Salon in Birmingham, AL getting a relaxer😜. I already know I will probably have a set back because I havent been doing anything too much to my hair while I have been in Afghanistan. My hair has been shedding and thinning. Long hair is too much work, lol. I will be back later with pictures:)

YEAH! Rosie the Riveter! Strong Arm Tiffie!

I felt strong today! LOL I love Rosie! Ladies remember we can do whatever we put our minds to! The words: "I cant" are NOT acceptable!

Bangs on a Full Lace Wig

I am still wearing this lace wig I was wearing in November 2011! It has been holding up REAL good and I always go back to it! I colored and bleached it myself 2 times. When I go home I am going to try and go back to 16 inches for a little “ump!” In the meantime I tried to cut me some short bangs. I cut a small section of hair at a slant. I am no professional at cutting but I am LOVING it now. At first I was like FAIL because they were limp. After putting a little bump to it and spritz  I was happy! My hair (lace wig) seem easier to manage now. The bangs automatically fall into a style. Here are some pictures.

5 Months & No Relaxer

I have just realized it has been 5 months since my last relaxer. My last relaxer was 05 February! My hair is getting harder and harder to manage out here. The two textures is driving me crazy. I think I have lost A LOT of hair on my right side due to this. I may even have a PATCH of hair lost L I will see once I finally relax. This water out here sucks. I pray that on my next relaxer I do not have a “set back.” Lesson learned…when you are stretching your relaxer you have to be smart about it and KNOW when to stop. This water is horrible is out here….no filters. I hate to lose progress.  I tried to flat iron my hair every blue moon to make it easier but it pointless because I still have to detangle…. SMH. I will be home on vacation from 16 July – 09 Aug so stay tuned for a relaxer update! YEAHH!!
