New Hairstyle: Side Braid on a Full Lace Wig

I am tired of wearing the same ole hairstyle. I am in the mood for trying new things. I try not to get too extreme with the styling because I want the lace wig to look as natural as possible. That is one big important step in having a natural looking lace wig.... do not wear your hair slicked back with gel, lol. Anywhooo, I like the little braided hairstyles that some celebrities are wearing so I decided to create my own. What do you think? Hit or Fail?

How to Bleach Knots on a Full Lace Wig Part 2: The Results!

YEAH!!!! <-- That is how excited I am! I glued my new baby down last night using some Mastix P. This morning when I took off my scarf I was in AWE! Perfectly bleached knots! YEAH!! The hair was so nice and silky and the top was not humped up. If you wanna know how I was able to achieve these knots check the posts below this one. Or click here to go to the 1st post. The hair color was originally a 1b and I bleached it myself. Anyway the first picture is an outside shot and the second is an inside shot. I did this so you ladies can see how it looks in different lightening.

How to Color a Full Lace Wig Pt.1

I get so bored easily. So the last couples of minutes on my lunch break I decided to go to my tent and attempt to color my  1b full lace wig. I applied the mixture only to the top layer of the back and sides of the lace wig...so underneath the hair will be black. I am hoping to get that  two - tone effect. I decided to leave the roots black to make it look as realistic as possible. I hope this is not a fail! I am waiting on it to dry now. Oh I used the bleach mixture below to color the lace wig. I think its like 2 posts under this post. Anyway here are some quick pictures. I will be back to post more once the hair dries. Wish me luck! lol.

Trying to Be Stylist in a War Zone!

I am loving Stuart Weitzman shoes! I just need to learn how to walk in heels before I fall and brak my neck, lol. But ummm I sort of have this shoe fetish lately! I think it is because I can not wear the clothes that I really want to wear over here in Afghanistan.. Sooooo I have been eyeballing the Stuart Weitzman shoes on: http://www.jildorshoes.com/brand.cfm/stuart-weitzman/.

Man if I wasn’t in this desert I would be broke! It seem like the shoes I am craving are high end shoes. Now when I say high end I am not trying to be all fancy. I am talking no more than $300. I will never pay $800 for a pair of shoes! Even if I pay $300 ....them babies are going to have to be VERY unique. I came across the jildorshoes from their blog: http://www.designershoesblog.com/ They have some nice name brand shoes and fair prices.

I am also feeling the studlyy loafer leopard suede steve madden shoes on their site. Since loafers are in and …I love studs and leopard...I might buy these! I don’t think they will be too “flashy” for the desert. Hell I want to feel like a lady over here. Times are hard, lol. Take a look at them and tell me what you think.

ThrowBack Pic! Kandahar Afghanistan

Crimson Tide Fans! If you have been following my blog you will know that I am from the country of Alabama. Home of the French roll and Finger Waves, lol. Believe it or not there are still some women in Alabama who wear French braids and finger waves.  Anyway today I was browsing through some pictures of me back in the day and I came across this Alabama shirt I brought from the Alabama apparel section at the University of Alabama shirts section. I wore this shirt when I first started off in Afghanistan faithfully. I was a big fan of Alabama apparel. I had the hat…the socks…I went shopping for everything. I believe I had the University of Alabama shirts collection! I am a BIG fan, lol.  One thing I like so much about Alabama and the education system is that they take pride in their school events and FOOTBALL. I remember moving from New York to go to school in Alabama and I was soooo excited that I was able to attend a “football game!” Man those were the days! Stuff that that creates school pride! I remember homecoming days! Man I miss living back in the days. No worries...nothing...just fun! What are some of your best school memories? I wanna know..especially from you Alabama ladies. I just thought I would share this story.

How to Bleach Knots on a Lace Wig

When you look at a lace wig and you can see the knots or the "little ants" on your scalp it just doesn't look good and it takes away from the lace wig looking natural. What can you do? Take you some bleaching powder and some 40 or 50 developer and bleach those knots. Its not as hard as you think. I would recommend that you practice first on an old lace wig. I like to use a old eye-shadow brush or a small blush brush and lightly dab the bleach on the "underside" of the lace wig. For the particular combination below I let the product sit on the hair for 2 hours! I know that is a long time! But for that combination below it works perfect. If that was any other combination the hair would probably be GREEN. That's why I say make sure you practice first. Below are the pictures of my results. Enjoy. :)
