How to Easily Remove Glue from a Lace Wig

The best way that I like to remove glue from lace wigs is to first use the "slide" method. That is where I take a mirror and gently slide the hairline of the lace wig across the glass. You have to be very careful when doing this because you run the risk of tearing the lace on the unit. I do not use this method to remove all of the glue but it assists and make the process shorter. It normally takes me a good 10 mins to remove all of the glue. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, but it’s a snapshot I took from my video that I didn’t post to YouTube.

12inch Full Lace Wig - Light Yaki Human Hair

So I was loving my afro curly lace front wig but I get tired of hairstyles quickly so I went back to straight hair….This is a 12 inch full lace wig from my favorite vendor. Sorry I can’t share their name because I plan on selling them. J
But ummm a lot of yall hated the other straight wig I had, lol…but this one is thinner and has a to die for natural hairline. I am loving it. I just need to get it to lay flat. You know how it is when you first get hair….you have to “tame” it. Here are some pictures. I am working on a review video that I will post today or tonight.

Lace Wig or Sewn in Weave?

You already know I am going to say lace wigs. In my opinion lace wigs are better for the overall health of your hair and they are easy to do it yourself. Now that doesn’t mean that lace wigs look better, lol….But when it comes to great lace wig applications it all depends on the application and the hairline. Keep reading to discover the differences between opting to wear a sew in weave or a lace wig.

How Do Weaves and Lace Wigs Affect Your Natural Hair?

Lace Wigs: Your hair has a chance to rest underneath a lace wig. Your hair does not need to “assist” in the process of installation…..

Sew in Weave: Most of the time your hair is corn-rowed and the weave hair is “SEWN” into your hair or a net! If it is sewn onto the hair, you know it’s going to pull your hair TIGHT in order to “secure the weave” from “loosening” fast. That’s a lot of stress on the hair strand. Think of your hair as silk. When it’s time to take the weave down you run the risk of cutting your hair by trying to cut the stupid black string? LOL, you think it’s funny? I have actually saw this happen! Not a good look, lol.

Sew In Weave: For sew in weaves most of the time you need to leave some of your OWN hair out. That can be bad because that little “leave out” section is going to catch hell from the constant flat-ironing or curling the hair to  make it blend.

Lace Wig: There is no need to leave any hair out. If you choose to use glue to adhere your lace wig, make sure you apply the lace wig a little below your natural hairline because if you are not can eventually pull out your own hairline.

Lace Wigs: With lace wigs you have the option of securing the unit to your head with bobby pins and it will still look natural. You also have the option of covering your entire head without any “leave out” hair. I prefer to use glue because of the wind over here.

Sew In Weave: For a good Sew in Weave you are going to pay at least $200 dollars. Look at Reniece prices: http://www.reniece.com/services.html .... For a full weave the price is $320 for the first appointment! Now don’t get me wrong she can “lay” some weave, but damn! I can get two human FULL lace wigs from vendors that will lace for about  6 months versus 1 install.

Monistat for Hair Growth Part II

This stuff really works! If you haven’t heard it by now, I know what you are probably saying! “Girrrrrl, what you talkin about using yeast infection cream on my head?”

Yup, that is EXACTLY what I am talking about. Some people hear yeast cream and nasty is the next thing that pops up in their head. But bare with me and be open minded and do not knock it until you educate yourself on it. J So read on sista! Reading is knowledge and knowledge is power and hair growth. J

My Story: How I Used Monistat for Hair Growth…

During the time I was using Monistat for hair growth it helped my hair to grow a lot! It grew about 1 and ½ inch in 1 month and a week. But I stopped using it because it was too much of a hassle to apply it with my micro braids. It would leave a white residue and I didn’t have time to wait for it to disappear. So shortly after that I started using liquid based growth aids for hair growth instead of the Monistat. Anyways on to the good stuff and how I used Monistat for hair growth.

Why use Monistat for hair growth?

Did you know that there is a yeast that grows in our scalps. It also grows in our oil glands, which go deep into the scalp. That yeast is what causes us to have dandruff or Seborrheic Dermatitis. ß That is a medical name for dandruff. J

So how exactly does this Monistat help with hair growth?

If you are African American like myself you should already know that because of our natural curl pattern, it’s hard for our natural oils to spread throughout our hair. Our oil gland shares with the hair follicle the same opening to the scalp. Let me say that again….your oil gland and your hair follicle come out of the same hole in your scalp. J If your scalp is healthy , the oil gland secrets a small amount of oil which in turn lubricates the scalp and hair. But in an unhealthy state the yeast that lives on the scalp and in the oil gland EATS the oil thus causing you to have dry scalp. So if you use Monistat to get rid of that yeast it will give you a clean scalp and your natural oils will flow freely causing hair growth from Monistat. But as African Americans or people with hair textures of 4, we have to take the extra step and add additional moisture to our hair, but the Monistat will assist in keeping our scalp clean.

Are there any sides effects?

From the forums the ladies have reported having headaches, tenderness or sensitive spots on scalp or some shedding. For each person its different. But don’t knock it until you try it. BUT like any other drug stop immediate use if you experience any of these sides effects because I don’t want to be responsible. So I warned you. J But I will tell you this I continued using it when I experienced a headache, lol.

How to use it?

I applied it straight out of the tube. Some people like to mix it with oils or water. I don’t like this concept because I do not like mixing products because you can never know what the effect of mixing a product might cause.

Here are the steps I took to apply Monistat to my scalp for hair growth:

1. Apply Monistat to sectioned hair and apply directly to scalp

2. Apply Scurl to scalp and ends of hair

3. Seal hair ends with coconut oil

4. Apply night scarf and sleep.

Yup, it’s that easy. I did that every 2 or 3 days and I got growth. Thanks for reading and let me know how it turns out for you. J

Bad Lace Wig Applications: 5 Things NOT to Do!

Yup, I am guilty of it. I am guilty of having a bad application, but it was a learning experience. Sometimes I slip, but I catch myself. :)

5 things I See That People Do Wrong When It Comes 2 Lace Wigs:

1. Thick Hairlines....who has a hairline that’s 100% - 150% thick? Why do vendors do this?

2. Cutting Lace.....The lace is cut straight across. Sometimes you need to cut the lace at an angle to keep the lace from being so obvious.

3. Visible Lace....The lace on the lace wig does not match your skin tone. All it takes to combat this is a makeup brush and foundation for your skin tone. Take a little and dab it on the lace.

4. Glueing baby hair to the skin....Oh I am SOOOO guilty of this, lol...I don’t do it on purpose but sometimes when I tie the hair down they fall like that. But its only on the sides and not my front. And 99% of the time the hair is covering my sides. But I am referring to the people who purposely glue the baby hairs down. The picture above or below is a good example.

5. Applying it too low. My rule of thumb is if I can't put 4 fingers between the start of the lace wig and my eyebrows then it’s too low. I have a big 5 head so I am good at this now, but when I first started I was wearing it too low. It looked like my side part was connecting with my eyebrow. ß-exaggerating, lol

But in the end ladies....these are only tips. At the end of the day if you like the way your lace wig look, then that is all that should matter. :)

Get Rid of Stomach Fat

^^^Yup, that's my Stomach^^^
If you follow my blog you know that I got the "smart lipo" procedure a couple of years ago. I have been able to maintain my weight and keep my stomach flat. The reason I got it is because I was lazy. Sad but true...BUT I am glad I did it.

Okay, lets be real we all know by now that you can not get a flat stomach by doing 100 crunches or sit-ups a day. Yes you are working out but you are working out the muscle behind the fat. Once you loose that extra fat then you will begin to see your muscle definition. Thats the reason I decided to get the smart lipo....to speed up the process, lol.

For the last couple of weeks I started walking around the track with my boyfriend and its been great, but I decided to teach myself what was going to work for me. So I went online and got some tips. Most people are working out the WRONG way. I downloaded this book last week and starting reading it. I was skeptical at first because it looked like one of those cheesy..."I wanna make money" books...but the author, Mike really breaks it down for you. He is a personal trainer so he gets straight to the facts. If you are like me you are lazy, lol....he gives some good tips on how to take advantage of a fitness ball and he shows you how to do various exercises. He breaks it down step by step. He covers all the lies about getting a flat stomach fast.

Another thing I liked about his book is its sort of like a school workbook and a magazine / novel at the same time. It kept my attention and I feel like my money was not wasted. If you choose to check it out you can view it here. It's your option to buy it...at 1st I was like oh no when I went to the site then something said everything isn't free, lol....so I brought it. Anyway here is the link: Get Rid of Stomach Fat. Let me know how it works out for you. I got the info, now I just need to apply it. :)

Accessories for Lace Wigs

*Clear* Pictures of My Afro Curl Lace Front Wig

Here are some clear pictures of my Afro Curl Lace Wig. This is the same one I did the video on the other day. I am so loving this wig.

On to another subject, you know what really bothers me about people and pictures? People who post blurry pictures of their lace wig. You cannot tell me that you can judge a wig by a blurry  picture. Really who are you fooling?

How to Buy Indian Hair (Wholesale) Directly From Indian Manufactures....

…Just sharing some info. How to Buy Indian Hair (Wholesale) Directly From Indian Manufactures....

I have been wanting to educate myself on the process of hair because eventually I want to get into selling hair. I was curious to know HOW the Chinese were able to dominate the hair market. Well I ran across this informative e-book that tells the history of Indian hair and the secrets that Asians shop owners use.

Yeah most of us already know that it comes from Indians sacrificing their hair to the gods at these temples in India but one thing I learned is that the hair is auctioned off to wholesalers / manufactures in large quantities by the kilo! Wouldn’t be nice if we could attend this auction? The hair is in its RARE form…meaning the hair could be infested with lice! So you really need to know what you are doing, but in the end its worth it.

Another portion of the hair from the auction is auctioned to local manufactures in India or eventually exported to countries such as China. Lately many Indian manufactures have invested millions of dollars into their facilities in order for them to sell their manufactured products DIRECTLY to us. If you want to read more and or are going to get into the business of selling hair, I am suggesting this e – book. You already know it’s a fee, but to me it was worth it.
