Sassy Tress - Tessa Lace Front Wig (Not Applied)

Today I got my full lace front wig from Sassy Tress! YAHHHH! Her name is Tesa. She is curly and very bouncy. I made the mistake of letting the comb pull one of the curls outta shape. I dont know if it will revert. :( This LF is only sitting on top of my micro braids and is NOT APPLIED.

I know you are wondering why in the hell do I keep buying these lacefronts, half wigs and full wigs if I am NOT wearing them.....well I plan to wear them while I am on R&R in Feb. I cant express how happy I am that I found lacefronts. They are so convenient and I love the natural looking parts. Now I just need to learn how to bleach the knots and apply it. :) Then it's bye bye Micro braids. No more crying b/c I am tender headed. :)

The only thing I didnt like about this LF is that the net is very...very...VERRRRY light and I can see the knots at the beginning of the hair. I guess b4 I wear this one I will have to take it to the professionals. Anyway enough talking here are the pictures....

Tammy Quick Weave - My Experiment over Micro's

I just love her to death minus the headband. I used the headband just to cover up the front of my braids. Of course when I wear this out I wont use that thing. But anyway this wig is so soft and big! I really like it and cant wait to go home to rock it like its mine, lol! Oh yeah its a lil extra big cause its over my micros.

My Braid Out Results On Micros (Human Hair)

Its not the best, but it was time 4 change. At one time I was just twisting my hair in 2 sections and applying the flexi rods but the curl did hold and I winded up looking like Lil John by the end of the day. YAHHHHAY!! So the other night I decided to braid it in 4 sections and apply flexi rods to the ends. Below are the results. The curls have fell alot because I took this picture like 6 hours after. I will try to post pictures of what it initially looked like earlier....later. Oh I almost 4got to tell ya.... I applied a lil Paul Mitchell Conditioner to my hair, sprayed the hair with Juices and Berries and sealed with coconut oil

My Most Growth Obtained...

This was when I noticed my hair thrived (see pic above)…. BUT this time around (my Dec Update) my ends seemed a lot thinner while my roots were thicker. I know the way the braids were taken out had a lot to do with it and other reasons. I discovered that the most growth and dramatic change my hair has seen was the May- Aug 09 time frame. At that time I was wearing the synthetic pony hair. After going back thru my blog I was able to create a list of the products and methods I used during that time. I included lil inserts from my blog for different posts I did for that time frame. Hopefully this will help me get back on track.

  1. ORS for Co Washing & Deep Conditioning
  2. Megatek ( I used this like every 2-3 days) I applied it to the scalp and a lil to the length of the hair
  3. Infusium 23
  4. HE LTR
  5. Oyin Frank Juice
  6. Scurl
  7. Coconut Oil (Used to Seal and moisturize scalp)
  8. Peppermint oil ( Scalp Only)
  9. Spectrum Organic Mayo ( Applied 2 dry Hair and Saran wrapped for 30-45 min)
  10. Aussie Moist for Co Washing
  11. Saran Wrap
  12. Shampooed with Aritha Soap
  13. Used a little of conditioner as a moisturizer or leave in.
  14. I Co washed a lot during this time!

  • Last night I washed my braids with Shikaki Soap and let some Mizani Hydrafuse sit in my braids with a shower cap for 10 minutes and my hair did not only feel moisturized while it was wet but when it DRIED! This is definitely a staple for moisture!

  • I am going to try and concentrate on using my aphogee 2 min reconstructor at least one a week after a regular wash.

  • (Products I used for 1 wash cycle)

  • New Products I am loving: Mizani Hydrafuse, Oyin Juices and Berries, Pentratt protein treatment

New Technique I am using: I never used to moisturize and seal in sections. I would spray Scurl all over my head and then seal it. Now that I moisturize and seal in sections I am giving special attention to a section of hair.

  • Well last night I took some mayo and applied it to my braids in sections and saran wrapped it for 30 minutes.
The Results: Aww man my hair and micros are soft and feel stronger.

  • Okay last night instead doing the tea rinse I decided to just Co-Wash like planned. I used ORS con. After that I sprayed some Infusium 23, applied some HE LTR and let my hair dry till about 95% and sprayed some Oyin Frank Juice and sealed with coconut oil. This morning my hair feels so good and hydrated.

  • Argh, last night I washed my braids using my "new" jar of organic mayo and it came out great but I know I used too much because this morning my braids were a lil greasy. I applied it to dry hair and saran wrapped it for 30 minutes and washed it out. I then shampooed with my arithasoap bar (Indian) and deep con with ORS Con.

  • In conclusion since I fussing, I will say that the K.I.S.S regimen while in braids is:

Find you a light moisturizer (I prefer S-curl or Oyin Berries and Juices)

Find you a growth aid *optional* (I prefer Megatek)

Find you a sealer (I prefer coconut oil)

Find you a great protein conditioner and moisture conditioner

Find you a great deep conditioner

Invest in a silk head scarf

  • Lately I have been eye-balling my ORS Replenishing Con and temptation finally took over. I untwisted one of my strands applied Oyin Frank Juice, ORS Replen Con and sealed with Coconut Oil.

    The Results:
    Very, very soft moisturized hair!

Cons: I would not recommend doing this daily but closer to your wash days.

Playing With This Lace-Front Again...

Here I go again playing with that Lace-front. :) I 4got to add the baby powder to make some of that shine go away. Still no glue, or tape....just Jam. This time around I "tried" to cut some baby hairs. I am still tripping on how realistic the hairline looks. It actually looks like its coming out of my scalp. Ladies, I think I have found my "save the day" hairstyle. This will be good for when I go home for 2 weeks and decide not to get a relaxer.

My Natural Nails Part 10...

When I went home on R&R just about every last one of my long nails broke except for my pinkie and the finger next to it on my left hand. I know I should cut those two off but I can bare to part with them, lol. Anyway, I have been using all kind of nail hardener and nail growth stuff. They are growing slowly. I hope to at above "nub" level before my next R&R. Here is the color that my male "friend" suggested I wear. I like bright color but I don't think I am feeling this yellow:

My Wig...

Today I got my wig from Hairsisters.com. Its really cute and I love the colors. I added the headband to flatten my hair a lil at the top since I put the wig over my micros. Here are some pic's:

Here is a pic without the headband. It doesn't look too good. Maybe I should play with it some more:

My Practice LaceFront...LOTS of Pic's

Ya'll already know that I have been wanting a lacefront so bad and for long but I'm stuck on Micros. Micros are just so much easier and I can manage my hair alot better instead of it hiding it under a lacefront wig. Anyway, if you recall a couple of months ago I ordered a "practice Lacefront" for me to play with. My mission was to learn how to cut it. Well today I finally took the time to do it and I LIKE it. I just dont like that its synthetic hair and it didnt have the pre-made baby hairs.

I didnt use glue or tape or anything. I just took some jam and stuck it up there, lol. Once again as a reminder I didnt go anywhere looking like this....it was just practice. :) Last time I did it one of my friends said I look like Frankenstein cause I had it too low on my 5-head. This time I raised it up a lil. I just dont like the str8 hairline and the kind of hair. So what do ya think? Yah or Nah?
