JailBreak IPhone

Anyway, I ran into a lot of ole military buddies while in Baghdad. One of my home girls showed me her IPhone which she had this app called Cydia. The only way to get it is to Jailbreak your IPhone. At first when she told me about it I was like NOPE, but once I saw how jazzy her phone looked I was hooked, so I did it! But now I have to wait until I get stateside in a couple of days to access wifi on my phone to download stuff. Anyway here is an example of what your IPhone can look like:
Here is the link to the download the files you will need:
And here is a tutorial I used. If you decide to try this please follow the instructions. I was half scared to death because I messed up my first IPhone trying to change the settings! LOL

Medical Leave!

Okay as you all know I was headed back to Iraq for work after a 21 +2extra day vacation. Well for some time now I have been having problems with my wisdom tooth. When I got to Baghdad my back tooth went in overdrive and was driving me crazy. So I went to the medics and they are sending me back home on medical leave for up to 30 days! Whooo, Hooo! I am hapy about that but hate its on a painful condition.

From Thin 2 Thicker Ends...

This is just a quick reminder of where I came from and what being determined can do 4 ya. Thanks to cowashing, megatek, coconut oil, BHM and LHCF I was able to achieve my goal. I love you all!

Reminder:
Dang, that pic is so BIG! Anyway here is where I am today...

Fresh Braids... 20 Aug 2009

Well it's that time again. I am rocking some more braids. I "attempted" to get the same kind I got last time but for some reason the hair feels and looks different. Its not like the other hair I had but its still Pony Hair just a different brand....and it SUCKS! I am going to have to be on my A game with moisturizing because I feel this hair is going to tangle bad. That's the only thing I hate about that salon is that she tends to have alot of "bad brands" of hair. Next time I will take my own.
Anyway for this set I plan on tweaking my regimen a little. I will continue to use coconut oil, megatek, cowash, mayo and deep con but I will try to wear my brands in some kind of bun 6 days a week. I feel like my ends are not "protected" like they need to be since these braids are not braided to the end.

My goal is to make these braids last until December 2009! Wish me luck b/c I will need it, lol!

My Natural Nails

Well this time I went home I decided NOT to get fake nails put on. I just hate how bad your natural nails chip after you take them off. So I decided to just get a manicure at the nail salon with the pink color I purchased from MAC.

Homemade Coconut Oil: Brian Shilhavy, CEO Tropical Traditions

Have you ever heard of homemade virgin coconut oil?

Brian Shilhavy founder of Tropical Traditions was the first to export virgin coconut oil from the Phillipeans to the US. One day he asked his wife of a more natural way to extract the oil from the coconut so he wouldn't have to purchase the refined coconut oil in the stores. His wife informed him of the natural way that the older generations used to do it. Well he started doing this and posted the product to the web and the demand became so great for it that he did not want to start using machines to produce the oil. So he started other families within the coconut community to producing the homemade coconut for him. If you are not sold yet on the idea....well what makes their oil so different from all the others or the ones we are used to using for our hair? They are just about the only ones that are making their oil the homemade way and the only ones smart enough to advertise it, LOL! Needless to say I will be ordering some of this oil.

Their premiere brand (Gold) is still made by hand.

Product Review: Silk Element Mega-Silk Moisterizing Treatment

Yesterday was my first time trying it. Once again I jumped on the bandwagon to see what a product was about. It's thick and smells great to me. I have bad sinus so that is a PLUS!
The results: I can't believe how soft and moisturized my hair looked AFTER it dried. I hope this product will give me the same results once I get my braids. I am not sure if I should buy a bunch of the packets or the jar size....but regardless I will be stacking up on this stuff b4 I leave again. Above is a picture of my hair when it was about 80% dry.

Also can you see the two textures I have? I believe this is a result of the relaxer being on one side longer than the other. So next time I go to the salon I will tell her to start on my other side. If that does not work then I guess I will be able to say I have two textures, LOL.

The Back / Roots

My low pony. This will be a comparison for my next update.

I am just loving the way the back looks. It can be a little thicker but its getting thicker. Oh I clipped my ends just a little last night. I will post pictures later.

My Errday Bun..

Here is my lil bun that I was wearing everyday when I wasn't wearing a braid out. I applied Scurl or Carefree Curl (not my favorite) and sealed with coconut oil. Since I have been at home I ha vent used any megatek. I have just been letting my hair rest.

My Edges..

Don't ever let anyone mislead you by saying that micro braids made their edges fall out. They made their own hair fall out by not taking care of it. It's the truth Micro braids can be your friend or your enemy. I feel confident in saying that because my edges speak for themselves. They may not be super thick but my entire head of hair is not super thick. I have been wearing braids for some years now and never went bald around my edges. I make sure I keep some kind of moisturizer or growth aide on them. Now that I said all of that watch them fall out, lol!

More Braid Out Pictures

I am SOOO loving braid outs. Its such an easier way not to curl your hair and my personal opinion is that it looks alot better than flat hair. I went to Walmart today and purchased some accessories such as head bands and those shiny bobby pins. I will try them out tonight. Anyway here are some various braid out pic's
I took...

Getting ready to start

Excuse the face..

This is later on after I combed through it. It was nice while it lasted.

Growth Update Picture!

Be4...

Well it looks like I barely made it but it crosses the APL line. I am not happy with the way my hair turned out at the salon. My ends are very dry! She left me under the dryer 4ever and flat-ironed the hell out of my ends. She keep trying to get me to let her trim my ends. I hate stuff like that. After I said NO the first time she should have left it alone. She was saying stuff like thats the only way your hair will grow. NO! My hair did grow heffa, I just need to clip my ends. I was hella mad. At least let me look at it first. I am going clip my ends myself. Well here is my picture. My ends look thin on this picture. I will post a YouTube video later to show what it really looks like and more pictures later.

Quick New Growth Picture...

Here is a quick picture of my new growth. I plan on "trying" to get a relaxer tomorrow and I will post TONS of pictures, lol. Anyway I finally finished taking down my braids! Thank you Jesus! LOL! I did not have alot of build up or knots to complain about and I am sooooo happy about that. The trick was co washing to keep the buildup away.
I think this is the thickest my hair has ever been after taking down my braids. The picture below is 8 months of new growth. To help soften my new growth and aid me in combing through my hair I applied VO5 to the entire strand and sealed with coconut oil. I know I am supposed to let my hair rest but a day is enough for me. I will post update pictures after my relaxer. Yall pray that I am APL.

Delaying Update...

Sorry ladies, I am delaying my update a couple of days because as soon as I got home I had to help my grandparents with some stuff. So 2night I will start taking out some braids and try to finish tomorrow. So I will definitely have updates b4 this weekend. :(
