Makeup, Hair and Complaint's!
I haven't posted in days! My Internet in my room was down for THREE days and you know I cant post from work anymore. Alot has been going on with me and work. Did I mention I don't like my new job or the people. Its a long story but ummm its getting closer to my R&R and hair updates and I am excited so 4get the people and the job! I have already packed my bags. Yall I am not playing I am ready to go. This will be a 21 day R&R too....man! Today I was off work and the darn power went out from 0800 until 1158. You already know I was roasting in this trailer. I should have used that time wisely and deep conditioned my braids. So what have I been doing? I have continued taking down strands and checking my growth...Oh and I finally got my Girl About Town Lipstick! Yahh! Its brighter than what I thought and I have my doubts about it. So tell me what you think.

Bad Ingredient Check: Lanolin
When you are in a hair store, you pick up a product and smell it. If you like the smell then the first thought is OHHH I gotta have this. That is the wrong answer. The correct answer is to read the ingredients.
Okay moving on…..So I found some great info about Lanolin today. Let’s explore it, shall we…
Lanolin is derived from wool; most Lanolin is obtained from sheep, and other animals. There are different grades of Lanolin. Lanolin is a thick substance, which when applied to hair and/or scalp will create a barrier. Therefore, hair will not be able to accept moisture. In essence products formulated with lanolin, creates a waterproof barrier. It takes a lot of work to properly remove Lanolin from the hair shaft, more so than some silicones. Because, Lanolin is very greasy, and a thick substance. Some people are also very allergic to lanolin, meaning to the point of not able to breathe properly. Companies use Lanolin in their products, because Lanolin creates a very stable emulsion, and it is an inexpensive ingredient.
Isn’t that some ish??
Tip: People start reading the ingredients on the back of these products. However if it works for you then that’s your provocative. But by all means I will TRY…notice I said TRY to stray away from these products. The other night I found myself trying out some Mizani Protein stuff and didn’t realize until after the shish was in my hair that Petroleum was on the MAIN ingredients!! It’s sitting nice and comfortable in the damn trash now. J Shoot I am NOT playing. I’m on a healthy head hair mission!

MAC Makeup
Well today I got alot of MAC makeup in the mail. I am trying to see what is all the rave about for this particular makeup. Well out of the tons of stuff I got...I LOVE EVERYTHING! I especially love this pink lipstick. It's called Lickable. How about that! LOL! I cant wait to my Girl About Town comes. I love the mineralized skin-finish makeup and blush. I also tried to be a lil creative with the eye shadow but got it all in my creases and it's looking crazy. Ya'll dont laugh! I am still practicing! LOL!

Using Conditioner As a Moisturizer?
Lately I have been eye-balling my ORS Replenishing Con and temptation finally took over. I untwisted one of my strands applied Oyin Frank Juice, ORS Replen Con and sealed with Coconut Oil.
The Results: Very, very soft moisturized hair!
Cons: I would not recommend doing this daily but closer to your wash days.

Strand Update! (Pieces Above My Ear, Not Da Edges)
Unlike my 28 June Strand Update, these are the pieces above my ear and this is one single strand straight outta the braid. So why am I taking out all these braids? Why just not take out the whole head? I am taking out ALOT of braids because it is getting closer to my R&R. So I dont mind looking a lil crazy. Its so easier to these braids down with synthetic hair and a lil water/moisturizer. I am soooo happy with these strands right now, LOL! But when they make it to that "F" on the shirt THEN I can begin to feel like I have long hair.
